On their way to get married, a young Catholic couple
was involved in a fatal car accident. The couple found
themselves sitting outside the Pearly Gates waiting for St. Peter to process
them into Heaven. While waiting they
began to wonder; Could they possibly get married in Heaven?
When St. Peter arrived they asked him if they could get married in Heaven.
St. Peter said, "I don't know. This is the first time anyone has
asked.
Let me go find out," and he left.
The couple sat and waited for an answer.... For a couple of months.
While they waited, they discussed the pros and cons. If they were allowed
to get married in Heaven, should they get married, what with the eternal
aspect of it all? "What if it doesn't work? Are we stuck in Heaven
together forever?"
Another month passed. St. Peter finally returned, looking somewhat bedraggled.
Yes," he informed the couple,
"You can get married in Heaven."
"Great!" said the couple. "But we were just wondering;
what if things don't work out? Could we also get a divorce
in Heaven?" St. Peter, red-faced with anger, slammed his clipboard
on the ground.
"What's wrong?" asked the frightened couple.
"OH, COME ON!!!" St. Peter shouted. "It took me 3 months
to find a priest up here!
Do you have ANY idea how long it'll take to find a lawyer???"
The Half-Wit
A man owned a small farm in Minnesota . The Minnesota State Wage
& Hour Department claimed he was not paying proper wages to
his help and sent an agent out to interview him.
"I need a list of your employees and how much you pay them,"
demanded the agent.
"Well," replied the farmer, "there's
my farm hand who's been with me for 3 years. I pay him $200 a week
plus free room and board. The cook has been here for 18 months,
and I pay her $150 per week plus free room and board. Then there's
the half-wit who works about 18 hours every day and does about 90%
of all the work around here. He makes about $10 per week, pays his
own room and board, and I buy him a bottle of bourbon every Saturday
night. He also sleeps with my wife occasionally."
"That's the guy I want to talk to ---
the half-wit," says the agent.
"That would be me," replied the farmer
An Irishman, a Mexican and a Blonde Guy were
doing construction work on scaffolding on the 20th floor of a building.
They were eating lunch and the Irishman said,
"Corned beef and cabbage! If I get corned beef and cabbage
one more time for lunch, I'm going to jump off this building."
The Mexican opened his lunch box and exclaimed,
"Burritos again! If I get burritos one more time I'm going
to jump off, too."
The blonde opened his lunch and said, "
Bologna again! If I get a bologna sandwich one more time, I'm jumping
too."
The next day, the Irishman opened his lunch
box, saw corned beef and cabbage, and jumped to his death.
The Mexican opened his lunch, saw a burrito, and jumped, too.
The blonde guy opened his lunch, saw the
bologna and jumped to his death as well.
At the funeral, the Irishman's wife was weeping. She
said, "If I'd known how really tired he was of corned beef
and cabbage, I never would have given it to him again!"
The Mexican's wife also wept and said, "I
could have given him tacos or enchiladas! I didn't realize he hated
burritos so much."
Everyone turned and stared at the blonde's
wife. The blonde's wife said,
"Don't look at me. He makes his own
lunch."
A
farmer goes out one day and buys a brand new stud rooster for his chicken
coop. The young rooster walks over to the old rooster and says, "Ok,
old fellow, time to retire."
The old rooster says, "You can't handle all these chickens . . look
at what it did to me!"
The young
rooster replies, "Now, don't give me a hassle about this. Time for the
old to step aside and the young to take over, so take a walk and get lost."
The old
rooster says, "Aw, c'mon . . .just let me have the two old hens over in
the corner. I won't bother you."
The young
rooster says, "Scram! Beat it! You're washed up! I'm taking over!"
The old rooster thinks for a minute and then says to the young rooster, "I'll
tell you what, young fellow, I'll have a race around the farmhouse with you.
Whoever wins the race gets domain of the chicken coop."
The young
rooster says, "You know I'm going to beat you, old man, so just to be fair,
I'm even going to give you a head start."
They line
up in back of the farm house, get a chicken to cluck "Go!" and the
old rooster takes off running. About 15 seconds later the young rooster takes
off after him. They round the front of the farm house and the young rooster
is only about 5 inches behind the old rooster and gaining fast. The farmer,
sitting on the porch, looks up, sees what's going on, grabs his shotgun and
BOOM!......he blows the young rooster to bits.
He sadly
shakes his head and says, "Damnit, third gay rooster I bought this week!"

A
woman walked into the kitchen to find her
husband stalking around with a fly swatter.
"What
are you doing?" She asked.
"Hunting
Flies" He responded.
"Oh.
Killing any?" She asked.
"Yep,
3 males, 2 Females," he replied.
Intrigued,
she asked. "How can you tell?"
He
responded, "3 were on a beer can,
2 were on the phone."
Not too long ago
a large seminar was held for ministers in training.
Among the speakers were many well known motivational
speakers. One such boldly approached the pulpit and, gathering the entire
crowd's attention, said, "The best years of my life were spent in
the arms of a woman that wasn't my wife!"
The crowd was shocked! He followed up by saying,
"And that woman was my mother!" - The crowd burst into laughter
and he gave his speech which, went over well.
About a week later one of the ministers who had
attended the seminar decided to use that joke in his sermon. As he shyly
approached the pulpit one sunny Sunday, he tried to rehearse the joke
in his head. It seemed a bit foggy to him this morning.
Getting to the microphone he said loudly, "The
greatest years of my life were spent in the arms of another woman that
was not my wife!"
His congregation sat shocked. After standing there
for almost 10 seconds trying to recall the second half of the joke, the
pastor finally blurted out "...and I can't remember who she was!"
"Sir, What is the secret of your
success?" a reporter asked a bank president.
"Two words"
"And, Sir, what are they?"
"Right decisions."
"And how do you make right decisions?"
"One word."
"And, What is that?"
"Experience."
"And how do you get Experience?"
"Two words"
"And, Sir, what are they?"
"Wrong decisions"
There was a case in one hospital's Intensive
Care ward where patients always died in the same bed, on Sunday morning,
at about 11 A. M., regardless of their medical condition. This puzzled
the doctors and some even thought that it had something to do with
the supernatural.
No one could solve the mystery as to why
the deaths occurred around 11 A. M. on Sundays. So a Worldwide team
of experts was assembled to investigate the cause of the incidents.
The next Sunday morning, a few minutes before
11 A.M., all doctors and nurses nervously wait outside the ward
to see for themselves what the terrible phenomenon was all about.
Some were holding wooden crosses, prayer books and other holy objects
to ward off the evil spirits.
Just when the clock struck 11... Pookie Johnson,
The part-time Sunday sweeper, entered the ward and unplugged the
life support
The difference between men and woman
Let's say a guy named Roger is attracted to a woman named
Elaine.
He asks her out to a movie; she accepts; they have a
pretty good time. A few nights later he asks her out to dinner, and again they
enjoy themselves. They continue to see each other regularly, and after a while
neither one of them is seeing anybody else.
And then, one evening when they're driving home, a thought
occurs to Elaine, and, without really thinking, she says it aloud: "Do
you realize that, as of tonight, we've been seeing each other for exactly six
months?"
And then there is silence in the car. To Elaine, it seems
like a very loud silence. She thinks to herself: Gee, I wonder if it bothers
him that I said that. Maybe he's been feeling confined by our relationship;
maybe he thinks I'm trying to push him into some kind of obligation that he
doesn't want, or isn't sure of.
And Roger is thinking: Gosh. Six months.
And Elaine is thinking: But, hey, I'm not so sure I want
this kind of relationship, either. Sometimes I wish I had a little more space,
so I'd have time to think about whether I really want us to keep going the way
we are, moving steadily toward . . . I mean, where are we going? Are we just
going to keep seeing each other at this level of intimacy? Are we heading toward
marriage? Toward children? Toward a lifetime together? Am I ready for that level
of commitment? Do I really even know this person?
And Roger is thinking: ... so that means it was ... let's
see...February when we started going out, which was right after I had the car
at the dealer's, which means ... lemme check the odometer ... Whoa! I am way
overdue for an oil change here.
And Elaine is thinking: He's upset. I can see it on his
face. Maybe I'm reading this completely wrong. Maybe he wants more from our
relationship, more intimacy, more commitment; maybe he has sensed-even before
I sensed it-that I was feeling some reservations. Yes, I bet that's it. That's
why he's so reluctant to say anything about his own feelings. He's afraid of
being rejected.
And Roger is thinking: And I'm gonna have them look at
the transmission again. I don't care what those morons say, it's still not shifting
right. And they better not try to blame it on the cold weather this time. What
cold weather? It's 87 degrees out, and this thing is shifting like a stinking
garbage truck, and I paid those incompetent thieves $600.
And Elaine is thinking: He's angry. And I don't blame
him. I'd be angry, too. I feel so guilty, putting him through this, but I can't
help the way I feel. I'm just not sure.
And Roger is thinking: They'll probably say it's only
a 90- day warranty. That's exactly what they're gonna say.
And Elaine is thinking: maybe I'm just too idealistic,
waiting for a knight to come riding up on his white horse, when I'm sitting
right next to a perfectly good person, a person I enjoy being with, a person
I truly do care about, a person who seems to truly care about me. A person who
is in pain because of my self-centered, schoolgirl romantic fantasy.
And Roger is thinking: Warranty? They want a warranty??
I'll give them a worthless warranty. I'll take their warranty and stick it right
up their......
"Roger," Elaine says aloud.
"What?" says Roger, startled.
"Please don't torture yourself like this,"
she says, her eyes beginning to brim with tears. "Maybe I should never
have ... Oh, I feel so ... so..."? (She breaks down, sobbing.)
"What?" says Roger.
"I'm such a fool," Elaine sobs. "I mean,
I know there's no knight. I really know that. It's silly. There's no knight,
and there's no horse."
"There's no horse?" says Roger.
"You think I'm a fool, don't you?" Elaine says.
"No!" says Roger, glad to finally know the
correct answer.
"It's just that ... It's that I ... I need some
time," Elaine says.
(There is a 15-second pause while Roger, thinking as
fast as he can, tries to come up with a safe response. Finally he comes up with
one that he thinks might work.)
"Yes," he says.
(Elaine, deeply moved, touches his hand.) "Oh, Roger,
do you really feel that way?" she says.
"What way?" says Roger.
"That way about time," says Elaine.
"Oh," says Roger. "Yes."
(Elaine turns to face him and gazes deeply into his eyes,
causing him to become very nervous about what she might say next, especially
if it involves a horse. At last she speaks.)
"Thank you, Roger." she says.
"Thank you." says Roger.
Then he takes her home, and she lies on her bed, a conflicted,
tortured soul, and weeps until dawn, whereas when Roger gets back to his place,
he opens a bag of Doritos, turns on the TV, and immediately becomes deeply involved
in a rerun of a tennis match between two Czechoslovakians he never heard of.?
A tiny voice in the far recesses of his mind tells him that something major
was going on back there in the car, but he is pretty sure there is no way he
would ever understand what, and so he figures it's better if he doesn't think
about it. (This is also Roger's policy regarding world
hunger.)
The next day Elaine will call her closest friend, or
perhaps two of them, and they will talk about this situation for six straight
hours. In painstaking detail, they will analyze everything she said and everything
he said, going over it time and time again, exploring every word, expression,
and gesture for nuances of meaning, considering every possible ramification.
They will continue to discuss this subject, off and on, for weeks, maybe months,
never reaching any definite conclusions, but never getting bored with it, either.
Meanwhile, Roger, while playing racquetball one day with
a mutual friend of his and Elaine's, will pause just before serving, frown,
and say:
"Norm, did Elaine ever own a horse?"
Wanting to join a monastery, a man was
told by the head monk that, in order to join, he would be allowed to say
only two words a year. The man agreed. After the first year was up, the
head monk said, "You've done well this year. What are your two words?"
The man replied, "Hard bed." The head monk said, "Okay, well,
I'll see what I can do." At the end of the second year, the man was
allowed another two words. He told the head monk, "Bad food."
The head monk again told him that he would see what could be done. At the
end of the third year, the head monk asked for the two words the man wanted
to speak. The man said, "I quit."
"Well, I'm not surprised," the head monk
told him. "You've been complaining since you got here!"
Everybody
on earth dies and goes to heaven. God comes and says, "I want the men
to make two lines. One line for the men that dominated their women on earth
and the other line for the men that were dominated by their women. Also,
I want all the women to go with St. Peter." With that said and done,
the next time God looked, the women are gone and there are two lines.
The line of the men that were dominated by their
women was 100 miles long, and in the line of men that dominated their
women, there was only one man. God got mad and said, "You men should
be ashamed of yourselves. I created, you in my image and you were all
whipped by your mates. Look at the only, one of my sons that stood up and
made me proud. Learn from him! Tell them my son, how did you manage to
be the only one in this line?"
And the man replied, "I don't know, my wife
told me to stand here."
A woman takes a lover home during the
day, while her husband is at work. Unbeknownst to her, her 9 year
old son was hiding in the closet.
Her husband comes home unexpectedly, so she puts the lover in the
closet with the little boy.
The little boy says, "Dark in here."
The man says, "Yes it is."
Boy - "I have a baseball."
Man - "That's nice."
Boy - "Want to buy it?"
Man - "No, thanks."
Boy - "My dad's outside."
Man - "OK, how much?"
Boy - "$250."
In the next few weeks, it happens again that the boy and the mom's
lover are in the closet together.
Boy - "Dark in here."
Man - "Yes, it is."
Boy - "I have a baseball glove."
The lover, remembering the last time, asks the boy, "How much?"
Boy - "$750."
Man - "Fine."
A few days later, the father says to the boy, "Grab your glove.
Let's go outside and toss the baseball back and forth."
The boy says, "I can't. I sold them."
The father asks, "How much did you sell them for?"
The son says "$1,000."
The father says, "That's terrible to overcharge your friends
like that. That is way more than those two things cost. I'm going
to take you to church and make you confess." They go to the church
and the father makes the little boy sit in the confessional booth
and he closes the door.
The boy says, "Dark in here."
The priest says, "Don't start that shit again."
The other day, it was my turn to prepare
dinner, so I asked my wife to go over to the local market and buy
some organic vegetables.
She came back rather upset. When I asked
her what was wrong, she said, "I don't think I like that produce
guy. I went and looked around for your organic vegetables and I
couldn't find any. So I asked him where the organic vegetables were."
"He didn't know what I was talking about, so I said, 'These
vegetables are for my husband. Have they been sprayed with any poisonous
chemicals?'"
"And he said, 'No, ma'am. You'll have
to do that yourself.'"
Last
week my wife and I purchased a new computer. We ran into some difficulties
while setting it up so we called the customer support phone number we found
in the manual.
I picked up the phone and called the number. A
man answered the phone and I explained the problem to him.
He began rattling off computer jargon. This confused
us even more.
"Sir," I said politely, "Can you
explain what I should do as if I were a small child?"
"Okay," the computer support guy said,
"Son, could you please put your mommy on the phone?"
WHO IS JACK SCHITT?
For some time many of us have wondered just who is Jack Schitt? We find
ourselves at a loss when someone says, 'You don't know Jack Schitt!'
Well, thanks to my genealogy efforts, you can now respond in an intellectual
way.
Jack Schitt is the only son of Awe Schitt. Awe
Schitt, the fertilizer magnate, married O. Schitt, the owner of Needeep
N. Schitt, Inc. They had one son, Jack.
In turn, Jack Schitt married Noe Schitt. The deeply
religious couple produced six children: Holie Schitt, Giva Schitt, Fulla
Schitt, Bull Schitt, and the twins Deep Schitt and Dip Schitt.
Against her parents' objections, Deep Schitt married
Dumb Schitt, a high school dropout. After being married 15 years, Jack
and Noe Schitt divorced. Noe Schitt later married Ted Sherlock, and because
her kids were living with them, she wanted to keep her previous name.
She was then known as Noe Schitt Sherlock.
Meanwhile, Dip Schitt married Loda Schitt, and
they produced a son with a rather nervous disposition named Chicken Schitt.
Two of the other six children, Fulla Schitt and Giva Schitt, were inseparable
throughout childhood and subsequently married the Happens brothers in
a dual ceremony. The wedding announcement in the newspaper announced the
Schitt-Happens nuptials. The Schitt-Happens children were Dawg, Byrd,
and
Horse.
Bull Schitt, the prodigal son, left home to tour
the world. He recently returned from Italy with his new Italian bride,
Pisa Schitt.
NOW when someone says, 'You don't know Jack Schitt,'
you can correct them.
Sincerely,
Crock O. Schitt

REMEMBER: LAUGHING LOWERS THE BLOOD PRESSURE.
One day, Joe, Bob and Dave were hiking in a wilderness
area when they came upon a large, raging, violent river. They needed to
get to the other side, but had no idea of how to do so. Joe prayed to
God, saying, "Please God, give me the strength to cross this river."
Poof! God gave him big arms and strong legs, and he was able to swim across
the river in about two hours, although he almost drowned a couple of times.
Seeing this, Dave prayed to God, saying, "Please God, give me the
strength and the tools to cross this river." Poof! God gave him a
rowboat and he was able to row across the river in about an hour, after
almost capsizing the boat a couple of times. Bob had seen how this worked
out for the other two, so he also prayed to God saying, "Please God,
give me the strength and the tools, and the intelligence, to cross this
river."
Poof! God turned him into a woman. She looked at
the map, hiked upstream a couple of hundred yards, then walked across
the bridge.

A bear walked into a bar and sat down. He
banged on the bar with his paw and demanded a beer.
The bartender approached and said, "We
don't serve beer to bears in bars in Billings, Montana."
The bear, becoming angry, once again demanded
a beer.
The bartender again told him, "We don't
serve beer to bears in bars in Billings, Montana."
The bear, very angry now, said, "If
you don't serve me a beer, I'm going to eat that lady sitting at
the end of the bar."
The bartender once again said, "Sorry,
we don't serve beer to bears in bars in Billings Montana."
The bear went to the end of the bar and,
as he had promised, ate the woman. He came back to his seat, and
again demanded a beer.
The bartender said, "Sorry, we don't
serve beer to bears in bars in Billings, Montana, that are on drugs."
The bear said, " I'm not on drugs."
The bartender said, "Yes you are. That
was a bar bitch you ate."
A dietitian was once addressing a large audience
in Chicago. "The material we put into our stomachs is enough
to have killed most of us sitting here, years ago.
Red meat is awful. Soft drinks erode your
stomach lining. Chinese food is loaded with MSG. Vegetables can
be disastrous, and none of us realizes the long-term harm caused
by the germs in our drinking water.
But there is one thing that is the most dangerous
of all and we all have, or will, eat it. Can anyone here tell me
what food it is that causes the most grief and suffering for years
after eating it?"
A 75-year-old man in the front row stood
up and said, "Wedding cake."
This is Heaven
This 85-year-old couple, having been married
almost 60 years, died in a car crash. They had been in good health
the last 10 years, mainly due to her interest in health food and
exercise.
When they reached the pearly gates, St. Peter
took them to their mansion, which was decked out with a beautiful
kitchen, master bath suite and Jacuzzi.
As they oohed and aahed, the old man asked
Peter how much all this was going to cost. "It's free,"
Peter replied. "This is Heaven."
Next they went out back to survey the championship
golf course in the backyard. They would have golfing privileges
every day, and each week the course would change to a new one, representing
the great golf courses on Earth.
The old man asked, "What are the greens
fees?"
Peter's reply, "This is Heaven -- you
play for free."
Next they went to the clubhouse and saw the
lavish buffet lunch with the cuisines of the world laid out.
"How much to eat?" asked the old
man.
"Don't you understand yet? This is Heaven,
it's FREE!" Peter replied with some exasperation.
"Well, where are the low-fat and low-cholesterol
tables?" the old man asked timidly.
Peter lectured, "That's the best part
-- you can eat as much as you like of whatever you like and you
never get fat and you never get sick. This is Heaven."
With that the old man went into a fit of
anger, throwing down his hat and stomping on it, and shrieking wildly.
Peter and his wife both tried to calm him
down, asking him what was wrong. The old man looked at his wife
and said, "This is all your fault. If it weren't for your blasted
bran muffins, I could have been here 10 years ago!"
The
man walked over to the perfume counter and told the clerk he'd like a bottle of
Chanel No. 5 for his wife's birthday.
"A
little surprise, eh?" smiled the clerk.
"You
bet," answered the customer. "She's expecting a cruise."
Just
like Bill
A man walked out into the street and managed to get a taxi just going
by. What luck, he thought, as he slid into the cab. "Perfect
timing," the cabby said. "You're just like Bill."
"Who?" asked the man. "Bill
Smith. There's a guy who did everything right," the cabby said.
"Like my coming along when you needed a cab. It would have
happened like that to Bill every time."
"Nah," the man said to the cabby.
"There are always a few clouds over everybody."
"Not Bill," said the cabby. "He
was a terrific athlete. He could have gone on the pro tour in tennis.
He could golf with the pros. He sang like an opera baritone and
danced like a Broadway star."
"Bill was really something, huh?"
"Oh, yeah," continued the cabby.
"Bill had a memory like a trap. Could remember everybody's
birthday. He knew all about wine, which fork to eat with. He could
fix anything. Not like me. I change a fuse, and the whole neighborhood
blacks out."
"No wonder you remember him," the
man said. "Well, I never actually met Bill," said the
cabby. "Then how in the world do you know so much about him?"
"I married his widow," replied the cabby.
A fellow in a bar notices a woman, always alone, come in on a fairly
regular basis. After the second week, he made his move.
"No thank you." she said politely. "This may sound rather
odd in this day and age, but I'm keeping myself pure until I meet the
man I love."
"That must be rather difficult." the man replied.
"Oh, I don't mind too much." she said.
"But, it has my husband pretty upset."
Johnson and Johnson - Good to
know
When you've had an absolute "I hate my job"
day try this: On your
way
home from work, stop at your pharmacy and go to the thermometer
section. You will need to purchase a rectal thermometer made by
Johnson and Johnson. Be very sure you get this brand. When you get
home, lock your doors, draw the
drapes, and disconnect the phone so you will not be disturbed during your
therapy. Change to very comfortable clothing, such as a sweat
suit and lie down on your bed. Open the package and remove the
thermometer. Carefully place it on the bedside table so that it will
not become chipped or broken.
Take out the material that comes with the thermometer and read it.
You
will notice that in small print there is a statement: "Every rectal
thermometer made by Johnson and Johnson is personally tested" Now
close your eyes and repeat out loud five times: "I am so glad I do
not
work for quality
control at the Johnson and Johnson Company".
Have a nice day folks and remember, there is always someone with a worse
job than yours.
A guy is at the Pearly Gates, hoping
to be admitted, and St. Peter says to the guy, "I can't see that you did
anything really good in your life, but you never did anything bad either.
I tell you what, if you can tell me one really good deed that you did, you're
in." So the guy says, "Once I was driving down the road and saw a gang of
bikers assaulting this poor girl. So I pulled over, got out my car, grabbed
a tire iron and walked straight up to the gang's leader--a huge ugly guy
with a studded leather jacket, bald head but with hair all over his body,
and a chain running from his nose to his ear. Undaunted, I ripped the chain
out of his nose and ear and smashed him over the head with the tire iron.
Then I turned around and, wielding my tire iron, yelled to the rest of them,
'You leave this poor, innocent lady alone! You're all a bunch of sick, deranged
animals! Go home before I teach you all a lesson in pain!'" Impressed, St.
Peter says, "Really? I can't seem to find this in your file. When did this
happen?" "Oh, about two minutes ago."
A
blonde and a lawyer are seated next to each other on a flight from
LA to NY. The lawyer asks the blonde if she would like to play a fun
game. The blonde, tired, just wants to take a nap, politely declines
and rolls over to the window to catch a few winks. The lawyer persists
and explains that the game is easy and a lot of fun. He explains,
"I ask you a question, and if you don't know the answer, you pay me
$5.00, and vice versa." Again, she declines and tries to get some
sleep. The lawyer, now agitated, says, "Okay, if you don't know the
answer you pay me $5.00, and if I don't know the answer, I will pay
you $500.00." This catches the blonde's attention and, figuring there
will be no end to this torment unless she plays, agrees to the game.
The lawyer asks the first question. "What's the distance from the
earth to the moon?" The blonde doesn't say a word, reaches into her
purse, pulls out a $5.00 bill, and hands it to the lawyer. "Okay,"
says the lawyer, "your turn." She asks the lawyer, "What goes up a
hill with three legs and comes down with four legs?" The lawyer, puzzled,
takes out his laptop computer and searches all his references, no
answer. He taps into the air phone with his modem and searches the
net and the library of congress, no answer. Frustrated, he sends e-mail
to all his friends and coworkers, to no avail. After an hour, he wakes
the blonde, and hands her $500.00. The blonde says, "Thank you," and
turns back to get some more sleep. The lawyer, who is more than a
little miffed, wakes the blonde and asks, "Well, what's the answer?"
Without a word, the blonde reaches into her purse, hands the lawyer
$5.00, and goes back to sleep.
Management Lessons we all
need to learn:
Lesson Number One
*******************
A crow was sitting on a tree,
doing nothing all day. A small rabbit saw the crow, and asked him, "Can
I also sit like you and do nothing all day long?". The crow answered:
Sure, why not." So, the rabbit sat on the ground below the crow and
rested. All of a sudden a fox appeared, jumped on the rabbit and ate it.
Management Lesson?
To be sitting and doing nothing,
you must be sitting very, very high up.
Lesson Number Two
*****************
A turkey was chatting with
a bull. "I would love to be able to get to the top of that tree,"
sighed the turkey, "but I haven't got the energy." "Well,
why don't you nibble on some of my droppings?" replied the bull.
"They're packed with nutrients." The turkey pecked at a lump
of dung and found that it actually gave him enough strength to reach the
first branch of the tree. The next day, after eating some more dung, he
reached the second branch. Finally after a fourth night, there he was
proudly perched at the top of the tree. Soon he was promptly spotted by
a farmer, who shot the turkey out of the tree.
Management Lesson?
Bullshit might get you to
the top, but it won't keep you there.
Lesson Number Three
*******************
A little bird was flying south
for the winter. It was so cold, the bird froze and fell to the ground
in a large field. While it was lying there, a cow came by and dropped
some dung on it. As the frozen bird lay there in the pile of cow dung,
it began to realize how warm it was. The
dung was actually thawing him out! He lay there all warm and happy, and
soon began to
sing for joy. A passing cat heard the bird singing and came to investigate.
Following the sound, the cat discovered the bird under the pile of cow
dung, and promptly dug him out and ate him!
Management Lessons?
1) Not everyone who drops
shit on you is your enemy.
2) Not everyone who gets you
out of shit is your friend.
3) And when you're in deep
shit, keep your mouth shut
How to handle a difficult customer ...
If you ever have a difficult situation to manage, you might consider
the approach offered by this obviously well trained Customer Service
Officer. Indeed, an award should go to the Airlines gate attendant
in
Dublin some months ago for being smart and funny, while making her
point, when confronted with a passenger who probably deserved to
fly
as cargo.
A crowded Irish Air Lingus flight was cancelled after their only
Boeing
767 had been withdrawn from service. A single attendant was re-booking
a long line of inconvenienced travellers, suddenly an angry passenger
pushed his way to the desk. He slapped his ticket down on the counter
and said, "I HAVE to be on this flight and it HAS to be FIRST
CLASS. The attendant replied, "I'm sorry sir. I'll be happy
to try to help
you, but I've got to help these people first, and I'm sure we'll
be
able to work something out." The passenger was unimpressed.
He asked
loudly, so that the passengers behind him could hear,
"DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHO I AM?"
Without hesitating, the attendant smiled and grabbed her public
address
microphone: "May I have your attention please, may I have your
attention
please," she began - her Irish voice heard clearly throughout
the
terminal. "We have a passenger here at Gate 14 WHO DOES NOT
KNOW WHO HE IS. If anyone can help him find his identity, please
come to Gate14."
With the folks behind him in line laughing
hysterically, the man glared at the Air Lingus attendant, gritted
his teeth and said, "**** You!"
Without flinching, she smiled and said, "I'm sorry, sir, but
you'll have to get in line for that too."
An enthusiastic door-to-door vacuum salesman goes to the first house
in his new territory. He knocks, a real mean and tough looking lady
opens the door, and before she has a chance to say anything, he
runs inside and dumps cow patties all over the carpet. He says,
"Lady, if this vacuum cleaner don't do wonders cleaning this up,
I'll eat every chunk of it." She turns to him with a smirk and says,
"You want ketchup on that?" The salesman says, "Why do you ask?"
She says, "We just moved in and we haven't got the electricity turned
on yet."
A common mistake that people make when
trying to design something foolproof is
to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.
Douglas Adams 3
The
angry wife met her husband at the door. There was alcohol on his breath
and lipstick on his collar. "I assume," she snarled, "that there is a very
good reason for you to come waltzing in here at six o'clock in the morning?"
"There is," he replied. "Breakfast!"
There were two old guys, Abe and Sol,
sitting on a bench in a park feeding pigeons and talking about baseball,
just like they did every day. Abe turns to Sol and says, "Do you think
there's baseball in heaven?" Soloman thinks about it for a minute
and replies, "I dunno, Abe. But let's make a deal: If I die first,
I will come back and tell you -- and if you die first, you come back
and tell me -- if there is baseball in heaven." They shake on it and,
sadly, a few months later poor Abe passes on. One day soon afterward,
Sol is sitting there feeding the pigeons by himself when he hears
a voice whisper, "Sol... Sol...." Sol responds, "Abe! Is that you?"
"Yes it is Sol," whispers the spirit of Abe. Sol, still amazed, asks,
"So, is there baseball in heaven?" "Well," says Abe says, "I got good
news and I got bad news." "Gimme the good news first," says Sol. Abe
says, "Well... there is baseball in heaven." Sol says, "That's great!
What news could be bad enough to ruin that!?" Abe sighs and whispers,
"You're pitching on Friday."
A
man dies and goes to heaven. St. Peter ushers him in, and he meets God.
God says, "Sit down my son, and rest. You must be tired and hungry from
your long journey; I'll get you something to eat. In the meantime, God
gives the man a telescope so he can see Hell. God returns with a tuna
sandwich and gives it to the man. The man says, "God, I am very happy
and honored to be here in Heaven with you, but all those people down there
are eating steak and lobster and drinking champagne. All you give me is
a tuna sandwich." God replies, "Well if you think I'm cooking for just
the two of us, you're crazy!"
A
man had a ticket for the theater, but when he was seated by the usher, he
found that he was too far from the stage. He whispered to the usher, "This
is a mystery play, and I have to watch a mystery close up. Get me a better
seat, and I'll give you a handsome tip." The usher moves him into the second
row, and the man hands the usher a quarter. The usher looks at the quarter,
frowns at him, then leans over and whispers, "The wife did it".
A guy walks into a post office
one day to see a middle-aged, balding man standing at the counter methodically
placing "Love" stamps on bright pink envelopes with hearts all over them.
The balding man then takes out a perfume bottle and starts spraying them
all. His curiosity getting the better of him, the first man goes up to
the balding man and asks him what he is doing. The man says, "I'm sending
out 1,000 Valentine cards signed, 'Guess who?'" "But why?" asks the man.
"I'm a divorce lawyer.5
The
father of five children had won a toy at a raffle. He called his kids
together to ask which one should have the present. "Who is the most
obedient?" he asked. "Who never talks back to mother? Who does everything
she says?" Five small voices answered in unison. "Okay, dad, you get
the toy."
A man went to the police station
wishing to speak with the burglar who had broken into his house the
night before. "You'll get your chance in court," said the desk sergeant.
"No, no, no!" said the man. "I want to know how he got into the house
without waking my wife. I've been trying to do that for years!"
A man is walking down the beach and
comes across an old bottle. Picking it up, he pulls out the cork. Sure enough,
out pops a huge blue genie. The genie says, "Thank you for freeing me from
my prison. In return, I will grant you three wishes." The man says, "Perfect.
I always dreamed of this, and I know exactly what I want. First, I want
one billion dollars in a Swiss bank account." Suddenly, there is a flash
of light, and a detailed list with Swiss Bank account numbers appears in
his hand. He continues. "Next, I want a brand new red Ferrari right here."
There is another flash of light, and a bright red Ferrari appears right
next to him. He goes on. "Finally, I want to be irresistible to women."
A final blaze of light, and he turns into a box of chocolates!

A plane
is on its way to Montreal when a blonde in Economy Class gets up
and moves to the First Class section and sits down. The flight attendant
watches her do this and asks to see her ticket. She then tells the
blonde that she paid for Economy and that she will have to sit in
the back. The blonde replies, "I'm blonde, I'm beautiful, I'm going
to Montreal and I'm staying right here."The flight attendant goes
into the cockpit and tells the pilot and co-pilot that there is
some blonde bimbo sitting in First Class that belongs in Economy
and won't move back to her seat. The co-pilot goes back to the blonde
and tries to explain that because she only paid for Economy she
will have to leave and return to her seat. The blonde replies, "I'm
blonde, I'm beautiful, I'm going to Montreal and I'm staying right
here." The co-pilot tells the pilot that he probably should have
the police waiting when they land to arrest this blonde woman that
won't listen to reason. The pilot says, "I'll handle this. I'm married
to a blonde. I have learned to speak 'blonde." He goes back to the
blonde, whispers in her ear, and without question she gets up and
moves back to her seat in the Economy section. The flight attendant
and co-pilot are amazed and asked him what he said to make her move
without any fuss. "I told her First Class isn't going to Montreal."
A Swiss man, looking for directions, pulls up
at a bus stop where two Americans are waiting. "Entschuldigung Sie Bitte,
koennen Sie Deutsch sprechen?" he says. The two Americans just stare at
him. "Excusez-moi, parlez vous Francais?" The two continue to stare. "Parlare
Italiano?" No response. "Hablan ustedes Espanol?" Still nothing. The Swiss
guy drives off, extremely disgusted and frustrated. The first American
turns to the second and says, "Y'know, maybe we should learn a foreign
language..." "Why?" says the other. "That dude knew four languages, and
that didn't do him any good!"

A
helicopter was flying around above Seattle, when an electrical malfunction
disabled all of the aircraft's electronic navigation and communications
equipment. Due to the clouds and haze, the pilot could not determine
the helicopter's position. The pilot saw a tall building, flew toward
it, circled, and held up a handwritten sign that said "WHERE AM I?"
in large letters. People in the tall building quickly responded to
the aircraft, drew a large sign, and held it in a building window.
Their sign said "YOU ARE IN A HELICOPTER." The pilot smiled, waved,
looked at his map, determined the course to steer to SeaTac airport,
and landed safely. After they were on the ground, the copilot asked
the pilot how he had done it. "I knew it had to be the Microsoft Building,
because they gave me a technically correct but completely useless
answer."
Blonde
Down on Her Luck
A blonde woman named Brandi finds herself in dire trouble. Her business
has gone bust and she's in serious financial trouble. She's so desperate
that she decides to ask God for help. She begins to pray... "God, please
help me. I've lost my business and if I don't get some money, I'm going
to lose my house as well. Please let me win the lotto." Lotto night comes
and somebody else wins it. Brandi again prays..."God, please let me win
the lotto! I've lost my business, my house and I'm going to lose my car
as well." Lotto night comes and Brandi still has no luck. Once again,
she prays... "My God, why have you forsaken me?? I've lost my business,
my house, and my car. My children are starving. I don't often ask you
for help and I have always been a good servant to you. PLEASE just let
me win the lotto this one time so I can get my life back in order." Suddenly
there is a blinding flash of light as the heavens open and Brandi is confronted
by the voice of God Himself... "Brandi, meet Me halfway on this. Buy a
ticket."
A professor stood before his Philosophy 101 class and
had some
items in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a
very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf
balls.
He then asked the students if the jar was full? They agreed that it was.
So the professor then picked up a box of pebbles and
poured them into
the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles, of course, rolled into
the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if
the jar was full. They
agreed it was.
The professor picked up! a box of sand and poured it
into the
jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He then asked once more
if
the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous - yes.
The professor then produced two cans of beer from under
the
table and proceeded to pour the entire contents into the jar effectively
filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.
"Now," said the professor, as the laughter
subsided, "I want you
to recognize that this jar represents your life.
The golf balls are the important things - your family, your
partner, your health, your children, your friends, your favorite passions
- things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your
life would still be full."
"The pebbles are the other things that matter like
your job, your house,
your car. The sand is everything else - - the small stuff."
"If you put the sand into the jar first," he
continued, "there
is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for your life.
If
you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never
have room for the things that are important to you.
Pay attention to the things that are critical to your
happiness. Play
with your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your partner
out dancing. Play another 18. There will always be time for me to go to
work, clean the house, give a dinner party and fix the disposal."
"Take care of the golf balls first - the things
that really matter. Set
your priorities. The rest is just sand."
One of the students raised her hand and inquired what
the beer represented.
The professor smiled.
"I'm glad you asked. It just goes to show you that no matter how full
your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of beers!!"
After enlisting in the 82nd Airborne
Division, I eagerly asked my recruiter what I could expect from jump
school.
"Well," he said, "it's three
weeks long."
"What else?" I asked.
"The first week they separate the men
from the boys," he said. "The second week, they separate
the men from the fools."
"And the third week?" I asked.
"The third week, the fools jump."
